I really enjoy practising my photography with my external flash. This photo of my co-worker Ania came out praticularly good. I liked how I merged the available ambient light with the light from my flash.

    Yes,I did slack a little last week in posting to my blog. I have no real excuse other than I came up empty in the creative department. Usually I will come across something to photograph. Not this time. The light was hard and everything looked the same to me on the island.
    Today was a very hot and humid. Not good conditions for electronic equipment. But I had a photo shoot this morning at 10am and I went out for a little photo hunt this afternoon. So I was not completely empty handed.

    The weather turned grey and overcast quickly today. But before the light turned I did manage to spot a great looking old VW parked by a old house in Oak Bluffs. The ivy growing all over it really added to its look. When you get a good parking spot here on the island you keep it!
    Yesterday I had an assignment to capture some yoga poses outside in a island location. I really enjoyed the excercise and learned a bit more in my quest to take better people portraits.

   Well, the summer season has arrived. That means very little time for relaxing and taking my time with my camera. It means lots of work, no parking places and people everywhere.
    I want to show a few photos from the memorial day parade in tisbury. All the vetrans in full uniform made for great photography. In between thunderstorms we have had a few days of blue skys and puffy white clouds. And since the sun does not really set till around 8pm,I sometimes get to capture this on film.

    I have spent the whole holiday weekend driving from here to there then back to here again. I tried to take some nice photos for work as well as for fun. I was partially successful but I truly need to go slower and really read the light. Here is an odd collection of some of the images I collected the last few days.
