All week I have been upset at the bleakness and bareness of the island. But looking back at my latest shots I see vivid colors! They were hiding and not out in the open but my eye was scanning for anything bright. And in the dullness there they were-colors! I hope more is to follow.
I started in Edgartown where I knew they were doing a controlled burn at the Katama Airfield. Like always I was not expecting anything to come of it. After pulling over to the side of the road I was just in time for them to light it up. The flames were dramatic and I wanted to hop the fence and get closer but I do not think they would take too kindly to that.
Lucey vincent is a favorite beach of mine in the off season. The wave were slowly rolling up the shore and then more slowly flowing out. It was fun just to watch and and take my time with my tripod. The only draw back was once again I soaked my sneakers, a common occurence for me.
Driving home via state beach brought another surprise. The water and shoreline was dull and dark but the setting sun just lit up a tiny spot of water in front of this rowboat, another great photo moment for me.
