This being off season we can enjoy a much more relaxed pace. I can take my time and not worry about traffic or crowds.
We have been enjoying continued warm weather, especially for December. Clear skies have also been a treat. This has allowed me some quite time to look up at the moon and the stars.
I meant to go to a different nature trail today, but got it confused with the one heading toward the old Brickyards in Chilmark. So instead of turning around I just followed the trail to see what I could see. It was a warm November day and the sun peeked in and out of the clouds providing for good conditions. I had a good walk and came away with some images to remember.
I recently took a beautiful flight from Nantucket to Martha's Vineyard. The sky turned deep colors as the sun moved lower toward the horizon.
My last days off I was hoping for more piz-azz in my subjects. I did alot of driving and it seemed I had to really look hard for the subjects. Maybe next week it will be easier?
Today the island lived up to its definition. A land mass surrounded by water, but instead of ocean we were surrounded by fog. All day it lurked around the shore lines, sometimes covering half the island, sometimes more.
The landscape seems flat and fairly featureless but quansoo has a real spirit to it. Quansoo is a Wampanoag word for eel. They must have been quite numerous in all the estuaries.
Enjoyed one of the first days of September by a small pond with a waterfall, trying to capture the sense of the place. All very quiet, nobody around. AHhhh September at last.
