I got a chance to visit a diary farm here on the island. I was expecting just a small barn and a few cows. But this was a big modern operation. When it was milking time the whole herd knew it and started heading to the barn on cue, with help from a herding dog named Rip. One at a time, like children in lunch line at school, they waiting their turn to be attached to milking hoses. All very orderly and fun. Rebecca the herd manager was gracious and allowed me access to all the going ons.
